Like everyone else it seems, I have the Cateye Strada Wireless on both my commuter and my best bike. It's simple to use and understand and i've never had a problem with it in all weathers. It does everything I need.

You can pay more for cadence and altitude readings etc, but to be totally honest I'm not sure I'd really do anything with that data. Seems like a waste of money to me unless you're logging all your data to analyse it, but even so, it seems a bit like overkill.

If you do want extra features on a budget then as Kevs-The-Name stated, the Boardman has more features for a similar price. To me it looked clunky and crowded though which is why I opted for the second Cateye.

For heart-rate you'll probably be best to get a second unit - i.e. one of those polar ones that you can use on and off the bike i.e. for running or other sport, rather than trying to get something all singing and dancing that you can only use on 2 wheels.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I will go with the Cateye Strada wireless. It seems popular both on here and in the cycling stores.
