I'm building up a cheapy retro Kona Fire Mountain steel frame. I just need to put a chainset on it. Out of these two chainsets, what should i get:

Stronglight Impact: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=50639

Truvativ Isoflow Trekking: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=34257

I like the retro look of the Stronglight, but it is 70 grams heavier (a minor thing), and i dont know if steel chainrings are good or not.

I'm using the bike for commuting, touring and general knocking about. Help me decide?

thanks

Wow, bargains indeed. Steel chainrings are good, they last longer. I've just worn a set out after 15 years/15000 miles ish, but the lighter ally ones at £20 would get my vote. They are one piece so when you wear one ring out you have to replace the whole lot. At £20, will you care?
