That's what I thought. I have one of them Focusses (Foci?) but have only raced it in dry conditions.

The frame doesn't have a hangar on the rear seat stays, so he'll need to fit one off the seat post clamp - bit flexier, but will do the job.

Because 'cross bikes get carried in the bunch. ANd you don't want a hot, sharp disc swung into your face.

They should ban those nasty spikey chainrings while they're at it.

Is there anything anywhere that states that the UCI decision for not allowing disk brakes in 'cross is for safety reasons over, say, technical advantage reasons (or just plain old UCI retro grouch reasons)? Can't find anything anywhere. Just speculation.

Dunno - I was told by a very experienced Commissaire that was the reason.

Whilst not doubting the reasoning at all it is rather flawed to a great extent. Watch how many runners carry their bikes on their right shoulders. Almost all because of the chainset. where are the disks? Hidden on the left. Also I have yet to see a hot disk in a cross race. Ah well not my ball. sure someone will prove me wrong but hey. Anyway back to original post. I'm impressed you get any breaking from STI's and V brakes. My and general experience is that theye are so useless togetjer is that they are nott fitted. Maybe I should try my Tricross single mini V's with Ergos.

Hot discs are way down on my list of things to worry about in 'cross races. There's trees, fences, sand traps, bloody great steep drops with trees and fences at the bottom of them..
