Ride It Like You Stole It!
Location
South Manchester
Normally at the cyclist, to acknowledge them. Usually get a nod back but one or two snobs choose to ignore me and my TREK bike yesterday around Cheshire. I'm probably not up to their standards but I'm still a cyclist same as them.

Wasn't me - I let on to most cyclists at weekends. Usually shock loads that a 'roadie' say's 'hello'. Even caught a bunch of MTB'ers out in Goyt Valley last year as I flew past on a unsurfaced road - said 'ok guys' !

I tend to check out the kit (clothing) then the bike - gives it away. On the commute when I pass on 'fixed' with panniers, and they notice no gears, then there is usually all out war to catch me

In this weather\time of year - lights, then a good morning\hiya. Can't wait for a decent ride in daylight at the moment
Although I confess the guy in full Altura Night Vision tights and top who did'nt shoulder check for 3+ miles...well, lucky to be alive imho. So I guess I do I check the kit out too.

I find that roadie chaps my age and younger tend not to say anything (especially if they're on their own). They usually just look in a rather patronising way cos i'm not barrelling along at 20mph. Older blokes usually say hello. As do groups and other ladies.
If I say hi to non roadie cyclists i often get the impression that they think I'm the one being patronising cos they're 'only' on a mountain bike or not wearing roadie clothing. Personally, i don't care what they're riding or wearing, but i think sometimes the snobbery (perceived or real) can work both ways.

First thing i look at is what bike they're riding, then how fast they're going!
