I keep mine in the back pocket the elastic band round it is ideal to stop the pump flying out of my pocket when I get aero  Besides, I can almost guarantee if it was in the wedge bag it'd be p'tured when I came to use it.
A mate of mine came up with a pretty ingenious position,

I dare say I'd lose it from there though.
AND a belt drive?

Does the chap wear a lab coat as he rides it? With test tubes mounted on the bar? Chapeau sir!

In my Specialized saddlebag I manage to squeeze in 2 innertubes (still in their boxes) 4 or 5 cable ties, a spare piece of innertube and a piece of tyre, 2 tyre levers, glueless patches, missing link, multi tool, 2 co2 cartridges and inflater plus my Leatherman tool. I carry money, card, phone, small lock, & a pump in my back pocket unless I'm on the bike with the Carradice saddlebag & those extra bits fit in there also

Barnet,
I carry a couple of tubes when out on a longish ride, normally in my saddle bag, but i also carry one tucked under the saddle, squeezed in between the rails and the underside of the seat.

Roll the inner tube up to the valve and suck out as much air as you can, then unroll and do it again until it is ribbon flat, then roll it and tape it up tight with three plastic tyre levers. This small dense lump will fit in a jersey pocket or a very small saddle bag with a multi tool. On a long trip I carry two rolled up like this. In my other jersey pocket I have a £2.99 phone (the cheapest I could find) and some cash wrapped in a sandwich bag.

Sorted.

maybe not fossy - but aint had a visit in my 12 months of cycling so far

Quoted for posterity.

The past is not necessarily a good guide to the future.

Why would you not carry a spare tube and some levers - not exactly taxing to carry it.

You can put money on the act when you do have a flat it will be cold, wet ,dark and your "taxi" will not be able to find you if your 30 + miles from home.
I ran gators with slime tubes with correct pressure and checked for shards and i still got 5+ a year ,maybe you have been lucky so far but do you want to chance it ?

Even more so in this instance, as yer man appears to use cycle paths frequently.

400bhp - i do ride a lot of cycle paths especially on the commute to work - but i'm pretty lucky to have paths that are not littered with broken bottles etc - rural wales doesnt seem to have the yob culture of the london's, leed's and manchester's of the UK.

i see our roads being cleaned with large road cleaners, litter pickers working sunday mornings and teams of council cleaners making sure our roads and paths are kept clean and tidy

our cycle tracks are all newly built at the moment with fresh smooth tarmac, but when my finances allow i will be getting a saddle bag with tubes and spares, but at the moment i don't have any and fingers crossed the gators and slimes are doing their jobs very admirably

Local authorities must have lots of cash in south Wales.... there's been little maintenance in Lancashire for many months now and the roads are shocking.

I used to hitch hike a lot so if I was immobilised I would simply shoulder the bike, wait for a van, estate car or Land Rover and stick out a thumb. I used to find that hitching with an obvious reason made it much easier getting lifts so I used to leave a climbing rope folded under the flap of my rucsac and on full view.

I've got two in my saddlebag, along with patches. I'm extra cautious right now 'cause I've got a cut in my front tyre and can't afford to replace it yet. FML, as they say on that Twitter.
