Hi Guys,

How many tubes do you guys carry with you when out cycling?

Also, where do you carry them? I have a medium saddle bag which would fit one in, with a tool and repair kit. However, I think it takes too much space in the saddle bag?

Thanks.

Usually in the seat bag which I can get 2 in as it's extendableb- topeak.
On the commute I carry two - one for the roadie and one for the MTB as that way I don't need to remember to swap out.
Not a big issue to pop one in the back pocket of my top if needed.

On my Brompton, stuffed inside the top tube. On the others I don't. If its not repairable with a patch I have a mobile phone to summon a lift/taxi and abort the ride. I have only had to do that once in several years (when a valve stem started to separate from the tube.) If touring I carry a couple but then I have panniers etc to keep them in.

I generally just carry one. I've got a Topeak saddlebag with 2 pieces of elastic underneath, and the tube tucks in nicely through the elestic. I assume that's what it's for ....

If I'm going further from home than I'd be willing to walk, I usually tuck an extra one inside the saddlebag.

Only the one, it lives inside the box it came in tucked away in my saddle bag.
I carry 1 tube, 3 tire leavers, multitool, minipump, asthma pump and a small bottle of antihistamine.
The bag is a topeak one, a bit larger than Adrians above.
Sometime, when Im feeling a bit crazy Ill attach the pump to the elastic under the bag and put my phone and wallet in the bag. But shht, dont tell anyone.

i dont carry one - if something gets the through the gatorskins and the slimetubes then its a quick call, abort ride or walk home

I keep mine in the back pocket the elastic band round it is ideal to stop the pump flying out of my pocket when I get aero  Besides, I can almost guarantee if it was in the wedge bag it'd be p'tured when I came to use it.
A mate of mine came up with a pretty ingenious position,

I dare say I'd lose it from there though.

Carradice saddle bag. Room for spare tubes, PRK, any other tool you might need, sandwiches and emergency Mars bar, spare water bottle, jacket and emergency pouch of Golden Virigina.

Wouldn't be without mine.
