If there is any issue, you would notice it straight away on the flats when you change gears. Go thru the full range. It might be case of getting used to it as you did change the gearing configuration. It appears to be a case of frustration getting the better of us.

Don't think so. Just replaced it recently but thanks for the interest

I had Carrera Virtuoso with 48/34 on it. When I got a Defy with 50/34 on it, I struggled with it to start with. I was forever changing from big to small ring and back again. A couple of teeth make all the difference but I soon got used to it. Made me a bit faster too I think
