Where can I ride my road bike?

Vineyard Hill, between Brookmans Park and Northaw/Potters Bar has been recently re-surfaced. I can vouch for it as I rode there on sunday.

It's pretty blissful to find a bit of road that was 'standard UK' and then gets re-surfaced. Like a section of the road between Ruthin and Corwen - ahhhhhh! Then, less than a mile later it's back to classic bone-shaking territory.

I rode it on Sunday too and Carbone, Dig Dag, Bread and Cheese, Bucks Alley none of the others had smooth tarmac but my focus managed well with a fat bloke on board.

Cycle lanes yes when safe, Cycle paths I avoid. Too much glass, holes, peds and dog shite.
