Mine is early Saturday mornings.
I work nights, if i have any free time it is usually in the afternoons before my son gets home from school and I might get out on the bike for an hour or so, but traffic can get busy even down the country lanes surrounding Hemel where I live. Sometimes a sunday ride is possible but again Sunday drivers are out in force. The best time of the week for me is after my nightshift early on a Saturday morning. I look forward to it every week. Some weeks it's only for an hour or so if the OH leaves for work at 08.30 but other weeks she has the day off, or like today is working a late shift so I don't have to rush back for Dad duties.
You can't beat cycling along deserted roads as the sun comes up and the countryside awakes, and this mornings sunrise was amazing through the early morning mist. Birds singing, rabbits hopping out of your way at the last minute and the sun warming you up from the chilly night as you cycle through empty villages. I can go for miles before I see a car and it is great having the road to yourself with just the buzz of the wheels for company. I really enjoyed this mornings ride, clocking up 50 miles, stopping halfway for a bacon roll and coffee and was home by 09.30.
Roll on next saturday morning, the OH is off so I don't need to rush back at all.
So, when is your favourite time on the bike?
