:tongue::tongue: The only way I can think of kicking my cycling addiction is to cut of both my arms and legs - I think I'll remain addicted ;):biggrin::laugh:

Then you would just get on of these!

Hi All,

Some of you reading this will know me from my many questions when starting out, I have had my bike 3 weeks now (Allez 18) and been out 5 times and I love it, I want more gear, better shoes already a computer ect ect ect.

Dose this stop or jsut get more exspensive, i play football every sat and one of teh cheapest sports with 2 pairs of £100 boots, nothing like cycling as now the gf and kids want bikes to come with me.

I still dont have any propper lycra either lol

It starts to get worrying when you start to look forward more to getting the bike out , rather than meeting the girlfriend, for the evening ..?..as in my case !!

Methinks I got this cycling/football thingy right, cycle to work 5 days a week, football Wednesday evening and Saturday lunchtime then nice long ride on Sundays.
ps ......... this football lark doesn't stop me going into cycle shops thou.

I've never heard of a rehab clinic, but I'm sure there must be one!

I've needed it since I had my first 'proper' bike in about 1959. You all need it as well!

(If I ever do come across it I'll be pedalling away from it as fast as I can...)

Even if you force yourself to stop and do cold turkey for many years eventually you come back and its worse the second time round.

You have thrown out your old gear saying I'll never need that again, your best Sunday bike sits in the garage / shed forlorn waiting for that fateful day you say to the SWMO, “think I will go for a spin see if I get rid of a few pounds”.

Suddenly your Sunday best bike is the coolest retro machine known to man and there is no hope. Need a new bike, new kit, shiny things and you buy the comic once again? Hooked it’s like ‘crack’ once tried always addicted.

Dear god the addiction.

It started as a free way to get to uni, it was supposed to save me money! Now I'm looking at clipless pedals, shoes, computers and all sorts. And that's not even counting the clothes and tools, I seem to need something different every week!

I blame the woman who hit me with her car, if she hadn't totaled my old bike I'd never have got a racer!
