BB's and CompuServe in '88 or '89 with a 1200 baud modem IIRC - time flies.

My dad went fishing for 'Dungeon Master' hints for me around 1988/89 on American BBs.. but I didn't know that was "the internet" at the time.

First used in 1993. I seem to remember looking at some (very grainy and slow to load) pictures of gems on the Smithsonian website. Ah, it was all Netscape in them days..
I used to use the University of Birmingham Chess server to get a dropped telnet connection so I could get onto MUDs like 'Foothills'.. anyone remember those?

Must have been around 95-96 when i first used it, although we had it in the house before then.
