I find that giving the tea bag a blast in the microwave for 30 seconds gives an extra hot cuppa.
It's amazing the subtle effect that kettle noise has on one's movements when waiting for it to boil...and woe betide the appliance that clicks off before the heated water has reached a crescendo!
I'll generally boil the kettle, leave it in a warm place to 'relax' for about half an hour and then bring it back to the boil on the hob for half an hour. I've found this to be the only way to achieve a truly hot cuppa.
