Indeed. Never mind about the rust, get rid of the chrome wheels as they are an utter nightmare in the wet. Unless of course you enjoy plenty of close calls when unable to stop!!

dnt know the size as just bought it think they are 700 and it just has raleigh on the frame

its a five speed would i be able to upgrade to a seven or 8 speed cog without having to alter the frame in anyway

Most unlikely you'd be able to. The limiting factor is the OLN (the distance the hub needs to fit between the two rear dropouts). On this bke it'll be 120mm or 126mm give or take. A 6 speed block will screw on and the friction downtube shifters will work. Can 'cold set' (ie bend) the frame to get more. To get an speed fitting you'll need a 130mm gap.
