hi
I have ordered an rt80 disc from Planet X that's not been built yet.
I went with the default wheelset of fulcrum racing sport disc.
But I am considering changing the order to upgrade to vision Team 30

It's an extra £30 and actually is a bit heavier, so that's why I stayed with the fulcrums

But I am wondering if anyone has opinions on the choice

The bike will be used for 20 mile each way commuting, and I have gone for 25 MM. tyres, if that helps

Thanks
Mark

If you really want to upgrade then just do it. A small weight gain over a 20 mile commute won't be noticeable. It's all about the bling my man.

I swapped (non-disk) Vision Team 30 to Fulcrums on my road bike due to the Visions being an absolute mare to fit and remove tyres and was not something I would wish to try at the roadside. The disc rims may differ however.

It's not about the bling for me at all. It's just about having a reliable wheelset for commuting.

Fulcrums may not be any easier for tyre fit than the Visions...I struggle to get new Gators on my Fulcrums. That said, mine have done thousands of commuting miles with no problems whatsoever.

Same tyres fitted to the Visions as I put on the Fulcrums and the latter were a doddle in comparison.

Get the Fulcrums & save the £30 for more of a wheel upgrade, if you want to at a later date. Both will do the job well enough.

I wouldn't bother for £30 difference, if you were going to a completely different level of wheelset then yeah. (ie: to Ksyrium/Ksyrium Pro | ZIPP 30 Course | Vision Metron)

ps: if/when you happen to notice a lot of internal noise. Give me a shout

Pretty sure ive heard that the rear bearings on the fulcrums fail quite quickly....aksiums would be my choice
There was only the fulcrum / vision choice. There was one other choice of a set of carbon wheels, but that was a £600 upgrade.

I am happy enough if/when the bearings fail to replace the bearings.

I have both and the fulcrums are far easier to fit tyres on, and are more reliable too, and not slower, although the team 30 looks great in the sunshine. Bb
