hi guys.
So on my new roubiax I got DT R470 Disc, thru-axle, 2Bliss Ready. But wanted to know what would be a good upgrade?

You bought a new bike and you're already looking to upgrade it? Not very sensible, but never mind....
470s appear to be a custom model for Specialized so info on weight etc seems hard to come by. What's your budget and why do you want to change them?

Hate to admit it as I love my Spesh bikes but there DT wheel sets are shizzle. Heavy and hard work but do a job.

I've been climbing a lot of hills lately on my way into work and when it's pissing down with rain it would be nice to have back up wheel set. My budget is between £500-1000 but don't really wanna go over just want maybe carbon wheel set but don't no which ones to get

I'd like to know why you think they need upgrading - and what kind of difference you think it will make?

I'm hoping lighter. But I guess I want one as a upgrade and one for back up.

The other day I was riding I swear I could hear the spokes rattling in my front wheel but when I stopped I couldn't find the noise

Check the annoying little screw thing on your valve is tight to the rim that rattles like a bitch when not tight !

As M Merckx rightly said, don't buy upgrades, ride up grades. Saving 200g on a pair of wheels will save you precisely bugger all time on climbs. If you had £3.5k to spend on a set of Lightweights you wouldn't suddenly start bagging Strava KOMs. And the law of diminishing returns applies, the more you spend the less 'benefit' you get for the money. Ride more and you'll get faster. You have absolutely no need of a back-up wheel set for rain. It's not like you're wearing your rims down & any decent wheel set will be perfectly OK in all conditions.
That said....I would happily recommend Hunt for factory built wheels (e.g...these rated 5/5 by road.cc). Also JRA, the likes of DCR for handbuilts.....

I've always been a sucker for anything Mavic. I always found them to be competitive weight wise they rolled really well and stood up to some pretty brutal pot hole hits. Never had hand built wheels which a lot of people rave about so maybe worth looking into. Some folk on here can recommend a good builder I believe.

I make that two sets. Lighter wheelsets are probably available, but don't expect blowing a wad on new wheels to significantly change your riding experience.

Think he means he wants a new set and keep his originals as back up. So only buying one set. I may be miss informed though.
