'eck thats light ... you're the winner thus far...
with the calc out thats 7.7kgs

but you can only win the prize if you dont exceed the £1000 budget give or take a ton or so....

ideally not SS etc etc

You've got me wondering now. I'm going to have to go out and weight it! I'm sure it was 11kg, and my steel framed audax bike was 13.

Confusing this

the Boardman Team Alu according to the spec weighs in same as Team Carbon at 7.9kg.. same SRAM groupset etc but 200 quids less.. hmmmmmm

however these bikes are now home delivery ;) thus avoiding eye contact at halfords

ok just checked again.. spending an extra 200 on Carbon saves you 400grams.. the money can go towards some very nice carbon pedals and nicer lighter shoes .. I think?

Can't say as mine has cost me well over the £1k limit ;)

oh you can.. just for the hell of it..

but the Boardman is looking good for SUB 8kg with a set of Ultegra pedals...??

My Boardman Comp weighs 19.5lbs allegedly (sans pedals)... it certainly has the 'one finger pickup-able' factor

converting thats 8.8kg is that Comp with alu frame?
and my finger test is ring finger.. hurts like hell picking up mine

Didn't we have this thread a week or 2 ago?? http://www.cyclechat.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=37376

Trying to get weights as you ride them is next to impossible, you'd need to stipulate bottle size, full/empty/part drunk, same for tool kit etc, the best method is stripped down of all additional items, bare bike weights, at least then you can compare apples to apples.

Anyway, using the bathroom scales method..

Scott Addict = 6.4kgs (14.1lbs) inc Garmin 705 and spare tub with fixings (only a few 100's over the 1k limit )
Giant Omnium = 7.9kgs (17.4lbs) inc road wheels and tri bars

Shouldn't that be Scott Addict 'RIP', HeartAttack? Sorry to hear about your off.

Cheers mate, could have been a lot worse

Its only the forks and front zipp that are cracked, other bits have damage but not enough to stop using them, though I bet I've managed to lose a few grams in the process of it sliding down the road, so lets make it around the 6.3kg mark
