Well in the case of Comfortably Numb, obviously not. Arguably the reason that Sweet Child of Mine is on the list is because of the iconic riff from Slash some two and a half minutes into the track and lasting for over a minute. I could listen to it many times over and then come back for more.

I'm bit more quirky with my message alerts - the current one is the phone effect from Our Man Flint (and more recently, Austin Powers) but I also use the sound of the book from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy and "Radiophonic Stomach" which I believe was first used in the Goon Show. They drive @gavgav mad if I get a message in the pub.
