View attachment 78467 Preston Bus Station, there was a long campaign to get it listed to save the council from demolishing it.

Also the Byker Wall. Too expansive and different across its whole length to do justice in one photo nabbed off google.

I'm from Preston and lived there when it was built. Functionally it was and is a complete disaster area.

Only official pedestrian accesss is via underpasses that have always been muggers and druggies heavens and permenantly smell of piss ... as a result far too many people have been killed walking across the bus access areas.

Is this Brutalist?

It was built as a sugar silo for Tate and Lyle.

Some of the most brutal architecture is to be found on the military estate. No pictures though as I was never allowed to take my camera in -obviously.

I'd give it a go, see if I liked it (which I think I would). Going to try to visit at the next Open House at least

Really?!?! I think you have had one bump on the head too many. Give me a village any day of the week, somewhere you call smell the grass, touch a tree, hear the birds.
I wouldn't live in a tower block for all the money in the world. I hate city life. Have to go into London almost every day for work and cannot wait to get out again.
