What's this link?

I have recently got my work bike back from repair with new chainwheels.

Also new was the odd looking link on the left? any ideas why this would be added in addition to the splitter link on the right/

I'm no expert but thatlooks like a second split link to me just off a different type

Got 2 quick links on one of my bikes, the chain has been lengthened (not by me, I hasten to add ) due to a new rear derallieur fitted.

It looks like one of the Taya master links.
These have one sideplate with 2 pins, and one with 2 holes, and you fit them by bending the chain sideways a bit to move the pin ends together so you can pop the sideplate with the holes over the pin ends

It's a quick/master link. Hold both sides and push together to take apart.

Most probably they fitted it after lengthening or cleaning the chain.
