A Google Chromecast. It is a Christmas present for me, which I ordered on behalf of someone else because I had a cashback offer giving ÂŁ2.50 off so it only cost ÂŁ17.50 from Currys PC World, with free delivery. And I got (*gasp*) 17p cashback too!
It is intended to counteract my Samsung smart TV's 'app-rot'. Its Eurosport app stopped working and will not be upgraded so I have had to watch on my phone or laptop, which is not ideal when trying to work on the laptop! Now I will be able to cast the cycling coverage to the TV and use the laptop in a full-screen window.
Hmm - track world cup from Hong Kong to watch on demand... I wonder if I can get permission to open my present early?
