Ha! My mum was offered a three year extended life warranty on a toaster... she looked at the salesman with a critical eye and said, why would I want that....Did you go for the 3-year one to save money?
I suppose when one becomes VERY 'senior' then it might be a tad optimistic to plan more than a year ahead, but I am not at that point yet so I am on my second 3-year card.
