You getting into dentistry then Vern?

Nah, overcoming the reluctance of Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour tyres to go back onto the rim. It's an industrial strength tyre lever. The upper arm rests on one side of the rim and the lower arm hooks under the bead of the tyre and lifts it over the opposite rim. It's yet to be tested in anger/desperation.

Like a heavy duty VAR lever then. Top tooling!

Blimey, didn't know such a thing existed!

Neither did I until I was discussing the frustrations of refitting the Marathons with a member of Woodrup Cycle's staff and asking about bomb proof tyre levers - I destroyed three levers in America before I discovered that my deflations were caused by a displaced rim tape.

He went into the workshop and resurfaced with a similar tool that is no longer made and said that they'd suffer if they lost it. Googling around for the original tool branded Simpson, I discovered the Koolstop equivalent. It's called a a Tire(sic) Bead Jack.

I'll be testing it in the next day or so.

My VAR lever surrendered its tyre lever end to the Marathon and has suffered permanent deformation in its battles with refitting them.
