A local cycle shop gave me some years ago, yes they were clear. I just thought it might protect the paintwork from future damage if you were to put bag back on.As I said car manufacturers something similar to protect the lower parts of the bodywork which are vulnerable to stone chips. It is a clear vinyl self adhesive tape which goes on top of the existing paintwork. You might be able to get it on the internet.
