The Rider by Tim Krabbe is, IMO, the best book written about cycling.

Discovery Road is about two friends who cycle east to west across Australia, east to west across southern Africa, and finally, east to west across southern South America.

Both are excellent reads.

I enjoyed David Millar's book on hols recently. Interesting to read that on the back of Kimmage's Rough Ride and, as someone has already said, also against Bad Blood by Jeremy White.

Other books I've enjoyed include In Search of Robert Millar (Richard Moore); Lance Armstrong tour de force (Daniel Coyle) - worth reading on the back of Armstrong's own books; Laurent Fignon, We Were Young and Carefree. Cavendish and Wiggins autobiographies are not bad.

Currently reading Slaying the Badger, story of '86 Tour de France, again by Richard Moore. About 2/3 through and really enjoying it.

For a different perspective, Johnny Green (ex tour manager of the of the Clash) wrote a book about following the Tour de France. Think it was called Push Yourslef Just a Little Bit More. Not a bad read.

Recently read A Race For Madmen, Bad Blood, Boy Racer (A Cav autibiography) and now I'm halfway through Racing Through the Dark by David Millar. Our local library has plenty of stuff, but I'm looking to buy a copy of Hinault's autobiography - he seems a character!

I fully recommend a read of another of Paul Kimmage's books - Engage : The Fall and Rise of Matt Hampson.
I know it is not about cycling but it is sports connected and a truly remarkable read. I have to admit to not being a big reader but I am already half way through this book and only got it yesterday. Even if you have never heard of Matt Hampson or do not like rugby I am sure you would still get a lump in your throat aswell as some smiles while reading this. Get it and read it !
