Surely that's the idea of listening to a live band, if you want to have a chat you would go when there is no music on?

Duke's folk club in Whitstable was another haunt of mine. Fiddlers Dram, of 'Day trip to Bangor' fame were resident there.

Pub food that was simply a cheese roll or a hot pie from the light-bulb heated glass cabinet on the bar. Pickled egg or ploughman's if you were in a fancy place.

I remember Sunday lunchtime live bands in the pub. Saw some great blues and rock bands, great people and had a generally great time. Happy days.

That sounds like spending time with people, in a noisy bar. On a Sunday.

Ah yes, Sunday lunchtime at the Half Moon in Putney is one of my treasured memories. Trad jazz, the regular/house band was the 'New Dixie Syncopators' I'd leave there, a few pints to the better and full of enthusiasm and energy.... then wonder wtf to do! Those were the days of Sunday afternoon closing!

No, that's the local I haven't been in since the 9th of November last year. The one I'm on about with the once a month 'artiste' is the one I take my own sandwiches into.🧐
