I would like to cycle over the winter months just wondering what I need to make it comfortable, warm and dry.

I currently have a dhb hi-vis jacket (waterproof), and windproof full-figured gloves.

I don't think you can ever be dry on a bike if it rains, you can be warm and comfortable ish (need to keep feet / hands as dry as you can)

Winter/Thermal bibtights are very useful IME.

Waterproof gloves might be advantageous.

Decent overshoes, or invest in some proper boots. FWIW I also use Sealskin socks, and they're one of the best things I've ever bought.

Decent waterproof trousers.

Decent waterproof cover for your rucksack/panniers.

Glasses with different lenses, although IMO you should never ride without them at anytime.

Plenty lube of your choice for regular mickling of your chain/drivetrain.

I wear prescription glasses so can't really get cycling glasses.

I was thinking of waterproof gloves as mine the fingers are abit long, some waterproof trousers or over trousers and maybe a black waterproof jacket like the night vision evo.

Light drizzle I will ride but if its racking it down the car it is. Buff is good and cheap and all above mentioned, this will be my second winter so I might invest in some decent socks as last year it was just my feet that suffered.

Decent gloves and overshoes are a must and then its a case of layering up but be careful not to over do it or your in danger of becoming the Michelin man Lol

Terry I also wear prescription glasses and I know what you mean about not being able to get cycling glasses. Try chainreactions.com I found some with inserts for prescription lenses that were reasonably priced and don't look that bad either.

Fast and careful!
I bought assos fugu socks, bang on for warmth,a tight fitting pair of over shoes and decent gloves,I only use a buff under my helmet, and then merano wool base layer windproof jacket, any more layers is up to you,and a light fleece lined bibed longs,if I don't wear glasses my eyes get sore,I treat my lenses with a anti fog paste
