I'm a mere novice compared to most with a paltry 1,000 miles

The elderly bloke(75)who runs the local road club goes on every of the rides baring illness or injury, like when he broke his leg 3 years ago and wasn't able to ride for a few months. He told me the other day he'd done over 13,500 miles this year.

Broke my hand and wrist in january so only managed 6,542 for the year, nearly all commuting miles, gave up club runs, racing and everything else on the weekends apart from a few miles with the wife who now has now not ridden a bike for months. I will have to put in some long weekend rides to get myself ready for Paris Roubaix in April but after that I intend to only ride off road on weekends as I will have a go at XC MTB racing again.

6942 miles. Less than last year. Next year planning more Mountain Biking.

Me too, I just need to convince my wife that there's space in her greenhouse to store an mtb

Prior to 2013...circa 3 to 5k miles anually. 2013...probably 50 miles, 2014, maybe 200, 2015...I dont know, I havnt been watching but a slight improvement.
Despite feeling better, this year has still been a struggle. Motivation has eluded me and I still get discomfort in my chest wall.
2016, we move premises, albeit later in the year, hopefully I'll be able to restart commuting, that for me was the biggest key to maintaining fitness.
Here's to 2016...

Unlikely to get out again in 2015 and so I will declare mine at 1521 miles. 260 less than in 2014, which is disappointing, but I was without a bike for about 6 weeks, after moving house and so I'm probably about par with last year. Determined to get 2000 in next year.
