Money no object, 1962 Corvette. Has to be the '62, only year with the series 3 twin light front end and the Stingray rear.

Sorry, shouldn't laugh, I'd love a Dolomite Sprint (in Mimosa Yellow), or a Rover V8S (SD1), in this colour (with the gold wheels) https://www.flickr.com/photos/45701009@N00/3953900274/

Just like, Phil Coulsons 'Lola' in 'Marvel; Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D'
Except his had a few extras

Well for nostalgia a Austin Princess 2 1700hl my first car. But the dream car has always been a V12 convertible E Type Jaguar in black with wire spoked wheels

I had an SD1 for about a year. I liked it but it was one of the ones with the new paint process, so rusted badly. Much underated car.

The Princess is a nostalgia thing, first car I drove after my test. My dad's was very reliable and fantastically comfy. I would love one.

My dream estate car is for sale just now, a Lynx Eventer - I had a V12 XJS when I was 27, bought instead of a restored Series 1 E-type (!) and it was fabulous, but shocking build quality - like the SD1 just sought entropy.

I turned down a chance to buy a pristine one for fourteen hundred quid in the late seventies, biggest regret of my life.

Probably get one now for a similar (pro-rata, correcting for inflation) amount. I don't think they're all that fashionable, though stunningly pretty and doubtless stupidly quick if you can afford 8mpg or whatever

I think on balance I'd have to have one of these:

though an Alvis would also be a fine carriage:

can't decide between this one

or this one

But overall, I think I'd swap the lot for this instead:

A couple of years ago, we sold our (what was the 'spiritual sucessor') to the E-Type
We had a XKR for 4 years!
Looked great, basically the wifes car/our 'weekend treat'
Went like stink, if you were so inclined
Absolutely fantastic for overtaking in ; 'book figures' for 30-70 were about 4.5 seconds!. so minimal time spent on the wrong-side of the road

Economy wasn't too bad - on longer journeys, we've been to Cardiff in it, & returned 29-30MPG!!

It had pluses & minuses;

Small rear seats (but bigger than a MGB GT, or a E-Type 2+2)
Huge bot (....it's a Jaguar - so made for golf-clubs...........)
Sounded too refined .... it's a Jaguar..........) Present XKs sound awesome, when 'pressed'
An automatic (it's a Jaguar......same box as some Mercedes)

If money was no object, a Ferrari 365GTC or a 400i, maybe an Alfa Romeo Montreal - I'm not fussy.

If anyone has a immaculate Princess and wants to swap for an immaculate VFR750 FT let me know
One of the best cars I ever owned. Would love another one day.

My dad bought a Princess at auction, changed the engine a few weeks later, had it for about 6 months, changed the engine again just before selling it. Least reliable, and last green, car he'd ever owned. Would have been late 70's, maybe just '80.
