Wouldn't get M+ if you want something that doesn't feel sluggish and clunky. They are fairly indestructable and although the rolling resistance numbers are quoted good they feel so slow.

Yeah - Hopefully this year the Road bike will get some more nice weather for it to come out and play though !

Well depends what you want them for. The M/M+s are on my hybrid. I think some of it is bad luck some horrid potholes have appeared the last couple of weeks.

The other thing about M+s is they are so much that on my hybrid at least a new wheel is only a bit more than what the tyre is! That said whilst everybody has been chickening out of rides I've done something like a couple of hundred miles in ice and snow on them no problems (not entirely sure as cyclogs has gone down).

How do M+ compare on snow & ice to knobblies?

Knobblies handled ridged ice better and to greater depth and the same superslush before it hardens. Didn't personally find that much in it on other conditions - mild compacted snow, non-solid slush, pure ice. Overall the conditions you're likely to encounter I think M+ are fine vs knobblies.

Other people I've spoken to disagree and complained about falling off but they were using smaller sizes. I thought some of the sizes they were trying to get away with were mad. It's a bit hard to compare too much because I haven't been out on knobblies this snap but did do in Feb last year. Similar conditions but gritting has been better this time.

Well fitted them after getting a puncture.
For some reason my inner tubes were 2 different sizes, 1 said 700 x 20/22 while the other was a 700x35/37.

I reckon when the shop fitted my skinnier tyres they skanked me with an old inner tube.

Was interesting though, fixing 1st puncture and taking off and putting on new tyres.
Really had to battle for a while getting the M+ on.
