Hi.
Been given a classic bike for my son, but unknown to me it requires strange tyres? wheels are 700mm and it appears old tyres on it are tubless? as they are totaly rotten can any one advise what type of tyre it requires and the cheapest online place to purchase as unsure.
Many thanks
.

Somewhere on the rim will be a number in the xx-yyy format stamped on the rim

This will give you what you need

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I suspect the tyres are tubulars - 'tubs', usually used for racing, and glued to the rims. Not everyday tyres. A close up of the (tyre free) rim would help to confirm if this is the case. If so the sensible solution will be to replace the wheels with ones with standard rims that take tyres with tubes.
