Just been watching Great Railways Journeys in Scotland. Gorgeous scenery, splendid landscape. Now watching the Great Barrier Reef on BBC4.
I hate all things involving so called celebrities. I always look for documentaries about animals , landscapes in different parts of the world , science or space programs. Don't bother much about films.

So I have been obsessed with Gotham. I have now finished the five-season series. I've been watching episodes every chance I've had. Gotham is absolutely fantastic if you are into DC comics Batman. Forget family-friendly Marvel. Get dark and broody with Gotham and the DC universe. Fantastic, flawed and well-developed characters, great stories, and lots and lots of conflict. And the last 30 seconds of the final episode - I knew what was coming, but I was on the edge of my seat on the reveal.

Batman has always been my favourite comic character. He's a hero, but not super. Yes, his billions of dollars are no doubt handy, but at the end of the day he's 100% human who is well-trained and learned (or should that be learnéd). He is the dark detective.

Anyway, I have to go watch everything Batman I have. I could be gone for a while...

Thus Spoke Zarathustra

The three metamorphoses and the Academic chairs of virtue, attack the backworldsmen, all are despisers of the body, with it's joys and passions. The pale criminal was taught reading and writing at the tree on the hill by the preachers of death. War and warriors, like the flies in the market-place advocating chastity for friends, with a thousand and one goals.

Last night i recorded a 2hr documentary by the journalist John Pilger..... A Dirty War On The NHS. I watched it this afternoon.
Shocking revelations about what has been done to the NHS by successive governments going right back to Thatcher. Many of these things secretly done behind closed doors, without public knowledge. The amount of private companies and the money made by those companies by being involved in the NHS is staggering, slowly privatising the NHS by stealth, bit by bit.
I urge people to watch this.... ITVhub.

The Locksmith, a six part TV drama from 1997... whilst the average plot is engaging enough, the dialogue and the acting, and the attempts at adding some comedic scenes are all absolutely dreadful. I watched three episodes back to back last night, just to see how bad it can get. Imagine someone who's spent their whole career directing the Chuckle Brothers or Rentaghost is given a serious script... this polished turd is the result :stop:

Just finished Gold digger on catch up. It was ok , though the script is quite clunky at times. It's like a Poundland Dr Foster, except there are no nice characters apart from the daughter and daughter-in-law. The main character and her ex both have gobsmackingly lovely houses in Devon though.

Day of the Triffids, BBC, 1981.

I remember my secondary school form teacher enthusing over this series back when it was broadcast, and it sounded rubbish... a comet that makes everyone go blind and walking killer plants... Come on!!!

Some years later, i watched the 1952 movie, and it was indeed rubbish.

Last night I downloaded the BBC version and expected very little. Binge watched four episodes and have just watched episodes five and six tonight... bloody brilliant! It's dated but it stands up. Faultless. 10/10 :okay:
