I should add the shorts were new but can't say it would bother me, I would not wear a second hand liner though

Yes it's padded shorts I meant if that's what you mean by liner. I.e. The layer worn next to skin

Yes the shorts I purchased had the shorts plus a padded liner.
Was having a look on wiggle ... Dhb Cosmo waterproof is half price and seems to get decent reviews. I'm not sure if it's the type of jacket you would wear in winter with a thicker jersey and/or baselayer under or if this is more a spring/summer jacket. It's hard when you can't see the products and really have no idea what your doing other than spending money! Lol

I've been wearing a nightvision evo jacket with a base layer or base layer and light LS jacket recently. Plenty warm enough and properly waterproof
Can quite often find on sale for £50-60

The non evo is a bargain here. Note they come up quite big, albeit fairly short arms
