Darren is 17 .We are teaching him about cycling .We have mentioned getting a good brekkie inside him before he meets us on our days out .I have told him i eat porridge with honey and two slices of toast .He does not like porridge. What else can you all suggest, even my mate who never ate porridge tried to convince him it's a good starter to a days cycling .So please send back some suggestions .And what about snacking for him on our days out .

Weatabix/Oatabix, Meusli, Eggs n bacon. Beans on toast.
Oats-so-simple is a quick and simple alternative to real porridge and comes ready flavoured. I can't stand porridge either, but Oats-so-simple is a fave!
Alternatively, a strong coffee, oat-bar and a banana.

I don't really like porridge either, so a pre-ride breakfast is often beans on toast and a couple of poached eggs. This seems to have the desired effect of providing long lasting energy, and staving off hunger pangs for a good long time. Apparently a bit of protein, e.g. the eggs, some bacon, etc., helps to keep you feeling fuller for longer. It certainly seems to work for me.
