What to look for - buying a second hand bike

If it is a real cyclocross bike it'll be a bargain at that price. It's too specialised a market for companies to make cheap lookalike ones that were racers.
What is it?

It does seem to be a real cyclocross bike. It's a peugeot, it's built with the clearance of a cyclocross bike, the frame geometry is shorter, and it has no lugs for waterbottles, which seems to be a feature of many cyclocross bikes?

Although slenderly built, it does seem more hardy than many racers I see, and the forks do seem larger. I increasingly like it. I'm assuming it's a real one - are those clues enough?

Having a little trouble gettign it set-up, but I think tha's just practice. I may go see someone.

Cheers
Steve
