From the way the OP is written, it seems that he walking on the wrong side of the road anyway for a lane without pavements. Also, the highway code says the dogs should be on a short leash. And if he keeps threatening you, keep a record and contact the police - I believe mobile footage would be sufficient.

If you want the road to yourself, buy your own road. Otherwise, learn to share nicely.

Do you know what I would do? I'd wait until Saturday or Sunday then go for a walk, catch up with him and have a nice little chat for a few minutes, asumming he wouldnt recognise me. Then as we parted I'd say: "By the way I'm the effing wotsit on a bike who you keep threatening. I'm glad so see you're not as nasty as I thought" or something similar.
