I rode the national hill climb at Matlock many years ago and went for a spin with a few clubmates from the hostel we were staying at to Brian O'Rourke's the day before. We were all sodden and frozen by the time we got there. We noticed a launderette a few shops away so decided to strip down and stick all gear in the driers. We were sat on top of the driers with very little to cover our modesty when a couple of old dears came in, their reaction was hillarious. A young lad, who reminded us all of Oliver came in and showed us how to cheat the driers aswell. The rain had stopped by the time we made the return, lovely and warm LOL.
For me it was the Nike Scorpion adverts (football in the cage). Also, not forgetting the original Nike football ad with the Brazilian team in the airport.
The "Protect and Survive" films were merely informational. If you want sinister, watch "Threads". Turns out that nuclear winter is even grimmer than Hull.
