BTW. I was sure there was a creaking noise coming from my rear hub. Stripped it and rebuilt it with no result.
Eventually, it was the pedal thread in the crank on the Right Hand Side.
The sound propogated and amplified along the chainstay to give the impression it was the freehub.
On bikes, when you are riding, a noise can be from anywhere.
