 suicidal f/ng lunatic coming down there more like, far too busy.

Swalwell Bank out of Whickham (with its emergency escape road and vine growing petrol station - is that still there?) or dropping out of Winlaton into Blaydon were way more fun. Getting up there in the first place tho.......
Hey, I was born in Winlaton and lived there until I was 22!

About 10 years ago I bought a probike stormcloud a big heavy dual suspension mtb. Now I'm a bit more "clued up" I'm appalled to think I paid about £200 for it when it's nothing more than a BSO! It's just sat rusting now!

Not mine but may as well be....

Check out the derailler cage, when did those stop getting fitted?

Had this for 2-3 years, loved it and for every extra lb it weighed it was worth an extra MPH downhill lol

I've bought two cheapo bikes, my first bike as an adult from woolworths, and then a few years later an Apollo mountain bike. TBH, both bikes though cheap and heavy, got me where I needed to be.

I suppose the worst bike I ever bought was my sons Thaomas the tank engine bike when he was a toddler.

Think mine was a silver supermarket special - axe (barracuda maybe) was the name they decided to put on this girder like frame combined with a leviathan of a rear suspension unit with a spring from an old commer panel van. Twist grip gears and a saddle made for large Americans that weighed more than my current carbon bike. It also had the worst geometry known to man and even though it was an XL my knees almost skimmed my knuckles. After saying all that it got me back into cycling and I have to thank my wife for buying it me, although for what I have spent since on my current bikes I'm sure she wishes she hadn't.

Care in the Community ;)

I existed half way between those poles, Ryton Comp for me. We used to have a rivalry with Blaydon but Whickham was too posh and a bit further away. Although posh is pushing it with & the Dunston revelation.

A specialized FSR XC mountain bike. Kept it for the winter commute. Heap of crap, always going wrong
