Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

A lovely idea which would be great coming from someone who wasn't singing those lyrics while playing his fine white grand piano, in a huge white room in his enormous white mansion!

you have to feel sorry for him yoko sold the rest of the furniture

Great great tune.. But as a scot .. really dodgey lyrics

My favourite song at one point was silence by delirium sung by Sarah Mclachan Not sing a long stuff but has depth musically and lyrically

As a half Scot I have some real reservations about some of the later verses used in the national anthem, the bit about rebellious Scots to crush ain't too hot although I think it has been officially dropped now.

There's something decidedly David Miller-ish about David Byrne.

Many Ozzies would tell you this is the best song ever written- it's a sort of an unofficial national anthem

The Pogues have written and covered some cracking songs in their time. Shane MacGowan is nothing short of genius (as well as a medical miracle for his continued good health). I'd struggle to name a favourite track but this one's right up there with the best of them
