My Cervelo R3 must be giving me only a placebo effect advantage over my Van Nic Yukon.

Before you ask, my R3 is much more comfortable than my titanium Yukon, much less road vibration gets through to my hands feet and ass. Modern carbon ain't harsh.

Cheap modern carbon is as harsh as ever, the more expensive carbon is compliant. Your R3 frame costs more than a lot of people spend on their race bike.


I rode a Cervelo S2 back to back with a BeOne RAW Carbon on the same group & wheel set. The S2 was the better frame to ride on however I just couldn't justify the extra £1000. The S1 was also very nice but not quite as good as the RAW & the extra £75 for the BeOne wasn't a show stopper.
