My usual routes are pretty urban and not very exciting. But yes, if you want more challenging cycling, head for dorking or Reigate and beyond. Depends how far you want to go really. I am hill averse so mostly I stay within towns

As ever, cycle-route.com for ideas.

Well I have been looking around at a few bike shops and all recommendations seem to point towards giant defy 3. Does anyone have any comparisons to look at?

I picked up a Defy 3 a few months back as my first road bike.

The only other one that got close IMO was the Trek 1.2 so I'd personally advise looking at that.

I don't think you'll go far wrong with the Defy mind.

My main bike is a Defy 1 ..... No regrets what so ever. Will upgrade the wheels soon (after 2000 miles) and put some flat top carbon bars on it to reduce the weight a little more, and dial in a bit more comfort.
