I am suprised you find this in the least bit amusing. If it starts effecting your family or yourself. I think your view may change. But it will be too late then.
Millions are not going to die in the UK or in the rest of the world. That's scare mongering. This is not the remainer blog!!

Millions! Just because me and everyone else in the pub, who have chosen to give the virus to each other.
You. Everyone in the pub. All the people they come into contact with, then all the people they come into contact with, and so on. The taxi driver, everybody who's been in the taxi. Your lift, everyone who's been in the car. All their families.

Et cetera

You'll be pleased to know that I have my priorities right - dropped into a local Tesco this morning to find it surprisingly busy for the time of day, with about half the customers buying bog paper - word must have got out on social media. Naturally I walked right past the bog paper aisle and stocked up on Banks's Golden Bitter at 90p a bottle, far more important to get the input sorted before the, er, output.

That assumes the PI has any guests

Just had a root around the Premier Inn website.

No mention of the virus on either the general home page or the page dedicated to the inn next to the restaurant we were thinking of visiting.

Brewer's Fayre has now posted a blanket 'we're closed' notice.

I suppose it would be possible to stop in a Premier Inn while complying reasonably well with social distancing in other respects.

Staying open is not much of a risk to staff at Premier Inn, not least because there are so few of them.

I booked one a few days ago for the 8th April, no idea if I'll still be using it as our company policy has changed to only using hotels where room service is available, to avoid using restaurants.

@gavroche you're French, aren't you?
You can read the French news from the source, can't you?
Of course I can and I keep in touch with my brothers in France to keep me posted on what is happening overthere. At the moment, everyone is confined to their houses with only 4 exemptions:
- if you go to work.
- to walk your dog around your own area.
- to visit your doctor or hospital.
- shopping for food
They have police patrols and a fine of 135 euros if you are out for other reasons.
Why don't Boris do the same here? It is the only way to beat the virus.`

Boris is taking advice from the experts. So the question should read why aren't the experts telling him to.
I think there might be a lot of well walked dogs. I expect people will be borrowing them!
