What hope for cycling?

We have drivers demanding that cyclists be kept off the roads. Reasons may differ, but many seem to feel we have no right to be on them. There were roads built for motor vehicles only, why aren't we as cyclists demanding that the roads built for motor vehicles are the only ones they use?

And roads with "minimum speed 30mph", like parts of the A45 in Northcrapton. That neatly excludes my bike from them.

It always worries me slightly when the Guardian gets behind a campaign - their track record of choosing causes is such that the opposite of what they want is almost certain to now happen.
