Erm ... this "not buying any more bikes" thing. Do framesets count? Just wondering

But ... if it's for someone else in the family, that doesn't count. Right?

Seller's photo and it's on the way for what appears to be a reasonable sum:

It'll either replace son no. 2's PlanetX Nanolight hillclimb bike or more likely his Boardman AirPro winter bike. But, given that I race for a 'Ridley' branded team I might pinch it instead of the Viner Mitus winter bike I'm building and he can have that instead. Discussions to be had although, as this is an XS framset and he's a little bit smaller than me he'll probably end up with it ...

I also picked up a budget pair of Fulcrum 55 wheels this evening, primarily as road wheels for the commuter. Collecting those Monday.

Shoes arrived, fit fine if a little tight on the toe box, but they will be fine.

As we left the house, the postie flagged us down. New cassette and SPD cleats, more stuff for the CX.

That completes the 'spare' original wheels as they needed a service and new bearings. This looks like it's going to be both an CX bike and a road climber as the 'spare' wheels have 28c Gators, and its got 34x32 on both wheels. The other road bikes are 39x26 :heat:

I forgot to ask ... you weren't the seller were you? And if so, how much for my silence?

Oh, and I've just picked up a Dura-Ace RH and Ultegra LH shifters for a reasonable sum, plus an Ultegra cassette. Not sure where the shifters are going but they may go onto the Viner Mitus I'm building, the Ridley above, or elsewhere. The Viner's at cabling point with 105 shifters so there's time to do a swap although I feel a little off putting Dura-Ace onto a 'winter' bike so may leave it as is.

Nah. Sort of Pavlovian response.
Where I'm allowed to sleep indoors, a bike place is in the garden. Unless she's visiting her sister.

I've decided to upgrade components where I can, so things are going from 11 speed 105 > Ultegra > Dura-Ace. No rush, but I'm then selling off the 105 components to cover most of the costs.

Similarly the 10 speed stuff on the cross bikes and my audax bike are going from SRAM Rival/105 > Ultegra > Dura-Ace but that's pricier and harder to find. I probably should have shifted the audax bike to 11 speed and a long cage derailleur with bigger cassette on reflection and may do that over the winter.

Bike storage is mostly outside / elsewhere. However, I've commandeered the conservatory for the smart turbo and workshop. Or rather when son no. 2 left I was told the smart turbo wasn't to stay in between the combined living/dining rooms - it made sense as things were getting cramped and we re-decorated.

Bikes come through the house because I'm not wandering round, then back, and I'll have a bike inside in preparation for a morning ride.

105 stuff then!!
I'm currently on 9 spd winter bikes and
10spd summer bikes!!

11 speed would be nice but half my wheels aren't compatible ditto discs!!

The Deerobust carbon hillclimb wheels I bought a couple of weeks ago arrived today - I'm a little surprised the seller sent them, albeit a week late, as it was £143 delivered for a pair of 1030g wheels, old tubular tyres which are OK (rear needs re-glueing or may need replacing) plus a lightweight titanium cassette.

No skewers so I've spent an additional £12 for a 40g pair of carbon/titanium skewers.

The wheelset's going on the Thompson Capella for the hillclimb season later this year.
