Just got myself the 500 with hr and speed/cadence sensors and absolutely love it!! Had been using map my ride on iPhone before that and my set loop looks spot on for accuracy, next time I'm out I'll try running both for a direct data comparison, I'll post results if anyone is interested :-)

Thank you all for your input. Funds are tight so don't think I can stretch to the 200. I'm also not worried about sat nav on it. Is there a computer like a wired or wireless one that has GPS just for logging route and details of route?

Isn't the 200 the entry level, so the cheapest? Second hand? Or use Strava on your phone?

Use a solar charger? Can give you 45% extra battery. I just cable tie it to the top tube & plug into the phone through the console case. Allows me to do <4 hours riding without dying

I bought a rechargeable external pack through ebay for my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus). Although it has only half the claimed capacity (as I expected) it keeps the phone going for over 14 hours with the phone fully charged to start with, the display kept running at about 2/3 brightness, the software going, and GPS on.

(Also available from Amazon and elsewhere)

Anyone know of a bike computer that you can preload a route into & it will give the rider the directions? I recall a few riders on ldn2par had a garmin version that did that.

The 200, 205, 305, 500 can all do this with a bread crump trail ie a black line of which you follow. The 605,705, 800 and above all have mapping.
