I went to see Courteeners in Kingston last night. For some reason people think its ok to throw bottles during the gig. After the lead singer had politely asked the fans to stop, the throwing continued resulting in the lead singer to be hit in the head with a bottle causing them to stop the gig after only 2 and a bit songs.

Last time I saw PIL some wag threw a packet of butter at John Lydon.

Well we went out to see Dan Britton/Chris Conway last night (as mentioned elsewhere to @The Velvet Curtain ) and there were also a couple of girls singing which I'd originally took to be a support act.
Absolutely blown away by them.

I think they're local to Leicester, the first CD (which I bought) was recorded at Neil 'tiny' Segrotts studio and Chris is on 1 of the tracks (playing flute) but it is fantastic.

That's a real shame. I saw them at Reading in the Summer and they were great. Loads of pyro.

Boris at Newcastle Uni, playing their beast of an album Pink. An excellent gig, though I was worried because the sound guy made a hash of the supports levels. Fortunately Boris had their own guy who was far more competent and managed to get the subtleties of their efforts through the incredible noise.

Sunday night me & her went to Open Norwich to see Billy Bragg and Joe Henry on their 'shine a light' tour. Their harmonies were great.
Although they were pissed off with old trumpy trousers getting in they were still warm and humorous.

I haven't seen Billy Bragg since the 1980s when I saw him several times. I have been thinking about this current tour, but I think I would rather wait until he is on his own and doing his greatest hits. Perhaps I should show more interest in what he is doing now and buy tickets.

I would go and see him now. His voice is a lot deeper and he and JH compliment one another. He's developed a good American accent too!
