What food at a cafe stop during a club ride

Doing a 70 mile club ride with a cafe stop half way though. The club ride speed is an average of at least 20mph.

What sort of food would be a good choice to have at the cafe stop? Looking for something that would not sit too heavy on the stomach as I don't wish to feel nauseated for the remainder of the ride.

Also looking for something that will provide me with a good carbohydrate source to aid refuelling. Thinking that a sausage and egg sandwich would not be a good idea.

Does anyone know of any good articles on the web?

What are your tried and tested methods for refuelling?

Thanks

Fruit cake or a lump of bread pudding. Depending how long you have, beans on toast are good, and help you home with wind assistance.

For 70 miles probably cake!! Lots of cake.

Anything further and I'd be looking at full english or fish and chips. It does take a while to break it down but after 15 - 30 mins I find I'm fully refuelled again.

Anything I can lay my greedy little hands on. Cakes, biscuits, bacon sarnies, fish and chips......washed down with a good cup of tea or a pint of ale.

It was the predictable coffee and a fruit scone for me one of my mates however, had a 'full breakfast' and seemed to struggle after that, even pedalling with one gear (after dérailleur snap) I dropped him a few times and had to let him catch up  Then again a mate on the club ride yesterday pedalling with a dodgy cassette had to give me a helpful shove and easily dropped me up the Wicks Of Baiglie when my dérailleur was fine

1) Cake- Rich, sticky, laden with calories. Coffee cake in particular has magical properties, particularly with thick, gooey icing.
2) Malt loaf
3) Bacon butty. Wouldn't recommend Full English, as too much protein and fat, which can sap energy in digestion.
4) Tiffin, or anything similar with plenty of biscuit and chocolate.
5) Coffee or tea with sugar, if you can drink it that way.
