They look very smart :thumbsup:, I used ones very like these. Used them with tubs, I remember them wearing very thin and sharp SAM_7370.jpg

I sometimes ride with a chap who uses his own version (from the same period) - a piece of tape stretched across the seatstays on the front (seat tube side) of the rear brake, just touching the tyre, which quickly wears to shape and then functions as a flint catcher. I'll pay more attention next time I see him and report back.

a recent purchase - only done 100miles so canna say yet .....but so far...................!

they are 700 x 23c running at 100psi ------------- when replaced i'll go to 25c

probably Schwalbe Lugano with K-Guard -- not a top-line item but i don't do large mileages

I've heard of them, but with modern kevlar-belted tyres (sorry, covers...) I've never seen the need.
I might make some though. Because I can!
