this picture tells me that you are not in the possession of a square...or at least that the bloke that built that room wasn't
- The out of whack kingpost probably was square when put together 300 years ago but time has taken its toll!
-you work in a traditional medium, but use modern tools (laser level, makita rechargables) so I expect you are under 60 (mid 40's?)
- yup under 60 but a bit older than mid 40's. If I can buy modern tools to make the work easier then I do
-the carpenters mallet and tenon saw suggests you are a chippy by trade but the wedge suggests you have erected the studs yourself, so are somewhat multi disciplined.
-
made redundant from IT in my early 50's I have been converting a barn using the carpentry skills I already had.
-the loose light fitting suggests you are not a spark (or you would have dealt with that)
I do all the work EXCEPT the electrics,
-in general you seem to specialist in period refurbishment/builders works.
including plastering, stone masonry and use of oak to reproduce period features. , although I also use an adze to match new timber work to the old timbers which were all shaped by adze. I enjoy working on old buildings more than I did IT!
-the position of the pen suggests you are right handed
I am right handed, but where's the pen!
