What do you call your main meals of the day?

Dinner ladies, clue is in the name 😆

They are called mid day supervisors now.
But yes we called them dinner ladies too.
But I had packed lunch. No one had packed dinner.

Lunch = middle of the day (hence lunchtime).

Dinner = evening.

If you study the etymology of the words, Lunch can be traced back to the old Norse practice of LungChomp: literally to eat the innards of your enemy whilst the sun still shines.
Dinner can be traced back to the Roman Dinariette: to pay an excessive amount of money for a very small portion of fancy food.

My dinner break at work is at 1:30 - just after the 10:00 tea break finishes.

I am generally not a breakfast person unless I'm out all day.

* podwieczorek - the Polish version of "kaffee und kuchen" which is tea or coffee and a smackerel of something on the side, nowhere as substantial as the British "afternoon tea"

My feedback:

Noon = lunch.
Evening informal/home = tea.
Evening, dining out or formal = dinner.

Dinner is always late in the day, never middle of the day.
Tea can be any time from, say, 4pm but is generally the final main meal of an average day.

Dinners at Dinner Time as referred to at school, it was served by dinner ladies (not lunch ladies)
Tea is at Tea Time 5 to 6, supper is after 8 to 9 and doesn't involve a sit down meal job, that's how its done in my part of Yorkshire so it must be right.
